- Field trips - The first stop will be at Bob and Marie Stehli's seedling Chestnut orchard consisting of approximately 10,000 seedling Chestnut trees. These trees are mostly descendants of trees that have been tested and found to produce a high percentage of high quality nut producing seedling trees. There will be grafting demonstrations by several expert grafters, and some Chestnut sorting and orchard equipment will be on display. We will have lunch at the orchard.
The second stop will be and Bud and Marilyn Luers' tree farm where there are over 100 different hickory cultivars growing and a large selection of Walnut, Hazelnut, Heartnut and Hican grafted trees. Nut hulling and processing equipment will be on display.Speakers, topics and times are subject to change. A more complete program booklet including meeting room locations, speaker addresses and biographies will be available at the meeting registration desk.
